If you aint comfortable with it Kerstin then don't do it - you will just punish yourself afterwards. I will hopefully see the young lad that re homed my boys through the week, I can ask him if his boss wants another 2??? I have no idea if he will or not but can try.

I let the lone goose out this morning but he did not want to be kept in so off to the water he went. He has been standing  in the same spot for many hours now. Every so often he lets out s squack, I think he is calling trying to find his lost mate. I just hope we get the replacement in the next few days as promised as he is very, very lonely, sad and probably scared. It is sad to see him like this.

I think swans do, Kerstin, but maybe other birds do too - I think Ospreys do, and herons.  Maybe it doesn't matter so long as they have company of their own kind. I thought James said he was getting another male or maybe two?

I don't know to be honest but the 2 I had were both boys and so there hopefully won't be a problem with them getting on.

Last night I collected my new Goose and so far the pair are getting on ok. Naturally the new arrival is very nervous and strange but there has been no fighting or aggression shown by either of them. I have kept them in a paddock of their own so they can't get onto the river. While I was collecting this goose I saw some Shetland Geese, very, very nice - smaller and much quieter so I have ordered 2 females. These are "auto sexed" geese so makes life easy.

Fingers crossed James but what are auto sexed geese? Yet more for your family!!!! if they were all children you would look a lot more worn out and older than you do ;)

Auto sexed mean they can be sexed almost at once I think. The males are white and the females white will big grey patches, quite lovely really.

Did you see the 2 Hawaiin Geese at the Poultry Show in Saturday - they were beautiful and sold for just under £100?

Yesterday we sent off for 4 "Foxwatch" gadgets that are designed to keep away fox. They arrived today and we have set them up so with a bot of luck this will keep the buggers away! Time will tell.
