I am a first time pig keeper and received three pigs this week. Today I saw one of the boars trying to mate with his brother. Is this normal behaviour?

i don't have pigs but from what i've heard from others a boy pig will try and hump anything!!!

How old are they, if they are weaners its not a problem they are just finding out about themselves...

They are 12 weeks. Thank you for your replies. It's all a learning experience; I'm sure I'll have another question tomorrow!

As Bloomer says - they are just play learning.  Sometimes gilts do it too when they come into season - especially KKs - little pigs with BIG sex drives

We have 3 male weaners, nearly 5 months old and they always trying to hump each other and have done so ever since we got them at 13 weeks old. It could be the Kune gilts who roam around outside their run tantalising them, or they might just be that way inclined   They seem a bit smellier than other males weaners we've kept before so am hoping the pork will be OK, they are booked in for next month
