Does anyone know what it costs to sell a pig through a rare breed auction such as Melton Mobray.

a commission will be charged by the Auctioneers on all sales of 5% with a minimum of £15 per head for Cattle & £5 per head for Sheep, Pigs & Goats.

iirc we paid £15 to enter melton show and sale last year + commission (we are in the lop section so not sure if bpa pigs are the same)

if you want sales prices from last years sales I have all the prices filed away.

Thanks both. The reason I asked was I'm after a new boar and a guy I know who has a good one to sell was planning on putting it through the Melton sale at the end of the showing season. I was going to see if he would reduce his price by the amount it would cost him to sell it and transport it to the sale. Worth a try.
