There was a woman using a Louet drum carder at the RBST stand at the Scottish show last week - she had just bought it new I think over the internet and it was just over £200, and it was really small compared to this ebay one. Seemed to work very well. Thats got to be several hundred pounds new and it looks in good condition - it looks like a cracker.

Check the new ones online     esp Louet - so I think if it comes to less than 100 pounds and is in good condition it would be a good buy. Is it too early for Xmas presents?
 
Also check what the carding cloth is on 72 tpi (teeth per inch I think) would do most medium to fine fleeces. The extra fine is too fine for most British fleeces.

I used to use one and they are very good. Well worth getting if it's around £100.

I would expect it to fetch £160-£200-ish.  Louet is a good make and it looks immaculate, even though it's 20 years old.  It also seems to come with the comb that you use to clean the drum.

The 'Junior', which is the narrower one, is £220 new.  A friend just bought a new one having had a borrow of my recently new-to-me one; I paid £170 secondhand for my fairly well-used one.
