In pig at last
« on: June 25, 2013, 09:43:57 pm »
Long story but I couldn't get my OSB gilts in pig by a very lazy OSB boar. They are 2 in August.  In the end - last resort (and I should of done this sooner) I put them in with our Berkshire boar and put our Tamworth sow in with the OSB boar - well thank goodness they have all clicked. :yippee:  So feeling positive that if all goes well we might have some OSB piglets next year...  :excited:

meanwhile .... can anyone tell me if they have had/reared OSB x Berkshire and Tamworth x OSB piglets and what was the meat like.

Thanks

Congratulations Piggy grandma :excited: ;D
With those crosses you should get scummy pork from the Berker cross and yummy bacon from the Tam cross.
All the best
mandy :pig:
