took the springer and setter to Cornwall
« on: June 22, 2013, 09:55:55 am »
we recently had a few days away in Cornwall to visit hubby's family. Decided to take the dogs; oh how worried I was the setter would disgrace himself (he thinks life is for having the most fun you can squeeze in regardless of any consequences, if it looks fun he'll take it on!)  :innocent:  Remarkably he was amazing, recall was fab and he was a delightful boy from start to finish. Have attached a photo of his first time going into the sea. He's seen it before but this was his first dip  :excited:

Hee, hee .... bless him.

My Flattie is 7 and still loves every minute on the beach. He is like a dog possessed.
Heads out to sea and sure he would just keep going if we didn't call him back.

Look at those ears! lol.  I have a soft spot for irish setters as I used to walk one when growing up.  Bless him, he wasn't the brightest spark, but he really was wonderful.  I did actually look at working irish when I was looking for a counting dog but they are just a bit too small and slight for my liking.
