tractor has arrived
« on: June 18, 2013, 12:21:45 pm »
A lot of excitement at our place today. Our tractor a little (1970s) Iseki with a loader and transport box has finally arrived. Can get on with a few of the bigger projects that need doing now.

Happy days!

You need to retitle your post 'First tractor has arrived'  you will soon find changing those implement thingys that fit on the back is really fiddley and difficult, not to mention a huge waste of precious time.  Much better to have one tractor for each implement,  thereby saving huge amounts of time and effort and manual handling.  So far 'we' have 4 tractors and my missus fully understands and has fully bought into my brainwashing, sorry cost benefit analysis.

I too have a jcb which has 'saved' us lots of money

My other half has asked me to pass your OH on some tips...

1. No where is open that sells plumbing bits after 4pm on a Sunday
2.  It's a good idea to find out where all your water pipes are before digging.
3.  If you haven't worked it out from 1&2. Don't dig on Sunday afternoons.

Sometimes the jcb has cost us money !

I feel that buried under the machismo in this thread is a tacit admission by some of the menfolk that they can't operate the three-point hitch properly.....

Im glad this thread was posted, it has alerted me to the need to review our business plan. I've just been outside counting up implements and have realised we are absolutely throwing money away messing about swapping things around, 'we' need another 5 tractors as soon as possible.

The OH is out at a meeting but I'm sure she will be in complete agreement when she gets back...in fact ill start looking on eBay straight away.......
