no thersday very cold The bank holiday weekend is almost upon us and the weather prospects are becoming clearer. Today should be mostly dry for many parts of the country, but cooler and clearer air will be moving south with showers developing in the north and east. Pleasant afternoon sunshine for many will be followed by a cold night with a ground frost possible by tomorrow morning in southern frost pockets, and more widely in central and northern Britain. During Thursday showers will become heavier and more widespread, and it will feel chilly with a strong northerly wind blowing. Gales possible in northern and eastern coastal counties. More showers in the east on Friday, but Saturday should bring a good deal of dry and at times sunny weather with only an odd shower in the east. Sunday looks reasonable too, with cloudier conditions and isolated showers, but many places probably remaining dry. Monday should start off dry, but cloud and rain could well return from the north wether outlook
