Willow sculpture course at Palacerigg

We are offering a day long course in 3D willow structures using traditional willow weaving skills. You'll learn the basic skills to make shapes, joints and will include living as well as non-living willow forms. Once you've learnt the basic techniques and shapes, the only limit is your imagination! Cost £40/£30. Please book in advance on  01236 720047. Date- Saturday 22nd June, 930 am - 430 pm. The event is part of a Scotland wide series of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversay of the Scottish Basketmakers Circle. :idea:

Just wish it wasn't the opposite end of the country to me! I tried some willow 'sculptures' (a tunnel and a bower) for our chickens. They look OK except the willow I used is not sprouting (it was our own off cuts from pollarding willows) so now I've got to start all over - could do with learning how to do it properly!
