stock fence price

hello all
           could anyone help and give me a rough price on how much it costs to fence one square acre in stock fencing 4 foot high please
we will get there

If you are assuming it is literally square (As the linear length will change according to shape) then an acre is around (roughly) 4000m2 which equates to 4 sides of roughly 63m. Stock fencing with posts and a strand on top is around £5.50 a metre (but depends on contractor).

so 63x4x5.5 = £1386


so around £1400 plus VAT + Any Gates etc

I would agree with Henchard on the coatings, they assume you are getting someone in to do it. Round here a contractor will charge 4.50 to 6.50 a metre depending on who you get. The VAT is the real killer, check whether any quote you are given is incl or excl as often the quote excludes it but it always turns up on the final bill...:-)

but can at least look at that as a max now

We just got a roll of medium strength stock fence 50m for £38 including delivery from eastanglianwire.co.uk/ and it came within 48 hours!!

That's a good price...although i giess the next part is the trickier bit  :wave:
