Baby explosion
« on: May 07, 2013, 12:27:35 pm »
Two lots of chicks hatched out in the last couple of days , One of our gold laced Wyandotts decided to go broody on a mixed batch of eggs she found in the corner of the barn ,all by different breeds of hen but by our gold laced cockerel, so we brought them into safety and she hatched them all.
Then we gave Bionic's cockerel ' Gonzo ' a gold laced girlfriend as an experiment, she started sitting on 4 eggs last month , this morning we found all four hatched , beautiful almost black chicks, going to be very handsome.
And trouble on four legs..

I missed this when Doug originally posted but am sooo pleased to see that Gonzo has done his stuff as I bred him myself.
His chicks look lovely and with such a pretty mum it will be interesting to see what they end up like.
Life is like a bowl of cherries, mostly yummy but some dodgy bits
