Duckling Moving On Advice

My questions relate to - what next? My Silver Appleyard duckling (two and a half weeks old) hatched by broody is still in a six foot pen with his surrogate mum. Mum is getting antsy to be out but I think he's still a bit little to be in the main flock and would be worried about whether he's big enough to be crow proof. He's not feathered although he is growing amazingly (he's probably three or four times his hatch size) so he still needs heat, I guess.

So how old do you let your ducks out? Also when do you move them onto growers? He's quite happily munching on anything his mum says which is a whole range of stuff in addition to his waterfowl starter crumbs.
