15lb chickens????

has anyone seen or heard of chickens that reach 15-16lb in 20 weeks, if so please read and reply to my ixworth query as i dont believe it.

if a chuck was to get to that weight that quickly it would be suffering. you can get chickens at that weight jersey giants and a few other of the very large breeds but it takes them longer than that. please don't go down the route of the fattest chuck in the shortest time route. think your proposing nearly a pound a week weight gain.

Madness. it is nice to have heavy birds to eat, but be patient, and not so greedy. A 10 - 12lb bird at 26 weeks is surely a better target, for tastier meat and a happier beast. ( though why should it be ecstatic about joing us for sunday lunch?)

okay here is a Q if you breed a bird at 15lb over 20 week would it get stretch marks ?

you may misunderstand my Q, i dont want 15lb chickens..... someone is saying my ixworths are not ixworths as his birds are 15-16lb and i dont believe it. check my ixworth Q,,, harry
