well that was a rough 48 hours
« on: April 24, 2013, 08:26:30 am »
Went back to the dentist to have the last of 2 teeth to be removed, had the injection...nothing happened..so another injection..slight tingle..but could still feel the pain..so a 3rd injection..yep!!! that did it.. face was dead as a dodo

she starts yanking the tooth..and..Snap....the root broke off ..it went a bit quiet in there..then she looks up and says...if it hurts ..you will have to go to hospital to have it removed  ....

anyway..woke up yesterday and felt like i had man flu... body felt like i had been kicked by a rugby team, mouth felt like i had been eating a box of nails and i just wanted to sleep....

anyway..feel better today so off to measure someones floor later.. i really don't like these dentist type people

I know it's a noble profession but I do wonder what happens to make some bright youngster think one day, I know, I'll be a dentist!!!

But I know we need them ..,,

I hope your poor toothy peg gets sorted soon :-))£

Yep been there too. Went for a tooth to be removed last year, but it was in so tight the dentist said rather cheerfully if i keep pulling at this any harder i will dislocate your jaw!!
So he took the drill to it and split it down the middle, then spent along time fishing bits out my gum, stitched me up, only to say; i will have to re-open the stiches because i think i've left a bit of tooth in there :o   So off we went again, another 20 minuits later i get rather wobbly off the chair for him to say to my poor hubby who was waiting for me, can i ring you tonight to see how she is!!! and ring me if you get any problems even in the night!!
Rather traumitised by the whole episode

Ohhhhhh......as someone who has a severe problem with dentists, doctors, and hospitals, this post has made me cringe.  I have to have happy pills just to go near a medical place.  One of the less tactful doctors at my practice asked "had something happend in the past to make me like this?!"  I think he was inferring I had been sexually abused as a child or something.  No......just have a massive fear of anything like this.

Hate the dentist and your experience would have had me out there like a shot.

You've got my sympathies too !
I went yesterday for 2 fillings (one at either side) and am still suffering - painkillers help, but then all I want to do is sleep  :-\
I get them all over & done with in one go, because I'm not a fan of the jags - this way I don't have the option of wimping out and cancelling future appointments  ;)
Hope you're back to 100% soon

It took a few diazepam to get me even through the door 2 weeks ago  :innocent:  so I can understand! Like Karen I had some work done - I had to have the furthest, most upper and back molar rebuilt after I broke it and a biopsy on a suspicious cheek lesion. To top it all, he only ruddy scraped and polished (adding insult to injury!!) so I came out like a hamster.
Hope you are feeling much better very soon  :bouquet:

The dentist that my kids go to is an absolute angel. He specialises in nervous kids and people with special needs. My daughter, who hates going to the dentist, loves him. Unfortunately he won't take me or OH on. Our dentist is a stunning blonde spanish lady. Does nothing for me but Kev now enjoys going to the dentist  ;)

this dentist is german..now i have nothing against the germans.. I am sure she is a very nice person under different circumstances ...but they do seem to have a different type of humour to us .... compassion didn't seem to be in the room..... :innocent:  :cold: ....

anyway ! I shouldn't moan..give it a few days and it should feel fine  :-J

Does your dentist's couch have a beach towel draped over it by any chance? :roflanim:

You have my sympathy . I have had an infection in my jaw since june/july and in october an abscess that exploded  through the outside of my lower jaw/face , and has continued to ooze puss at varying degrees .
I have had 6 different batches of aggressive anti bios , all to no avail , one tooth removed , another drilled hollow and left to act as a drain , it didn't work !
Still pumping puss through my face , although it has gone down to one eruption a week ish .
Going to the dentist again on wednesday to see what is what . I will not be a happy bunny if they say more anti bios , they don't feckin work ! lol .
I am truly sick of it now . Luckily i have no problems with going to the dentist , mine are all from Rumania or Hungary and are very nice . I don't care where they are from though , i just want it sorted .
Hope yours is sorted now and you have no more problems .
