Picked up 2 weaners this afternoon - now with pics
« on: April 12, 2013, 08:28:44 pm »
Got them from Mandy, aka Blinkers. They are GOS girls and I have called them Cider and Rosie.

They have had their dinner and were just bedding down for the night when I went to check on them.

Mandy, they were fast asleep when we got them home but boy did they scream when we took them out of the car  ;D

Its been a horrible day here but they have had fun re-arranging their bedding.

good luck , did you have boars or gilts last year?I had 2 boars and they went to slaughter at 26 weeks incase they got that boar taint.May get some gilts this year to keep on  for 8 -9 months to get some nice size hams.

rockstar, I had 2 gilts last year, the same as this year.

OH wasn't as sure about getting pigs as me so I didn't want any excuse i.e. boar taint, to put him off

Yeay - glad to hear they'd settled........but not surprised they screamed blue murder when you picked 'em up again  :roflanim: :roflanim: .     Shame the weather has turned miserable for them, but at least they'll get used to their new house where its lovely and snug  .

Will have to come and have cider wiv rosie won't I  :innocent:

Sound lovely. My son at aged 3 or 4 learned what a GOS pig looked like and never forgot. (he is 21 now)
Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

  They look great and so small, we've only had ours 4 weeks and they seem to have grown so much already!
