Are snowdrop leaves harmful?
« on: April 10, 2013, 04:10:33 pm »
Just looking out of the window and I can see my week old lambs happily munching on some snowdrop leaves. Will they come to any harm (the lambs that is not the snowdrops)
thanks

I've seen my goats eating them and they've not come to any harm so I assume sheep will be alright as well.

We have had to let them all in the garden, only grass we have and running out of hay. They have nibbled all things including daffs and rhubarb at first a couple of days ago. They all seem ok and have not gone back for more. Perhaps they have more sense than we credit them with.
I might be wary if there was nothing else.

Our ones eat anything when they escape into the garden.  Bamboo, heather, evergreen, privet, tree bark.

None have come to any harm, but try my best to keep them out, just in case.

All rhubarb parts are poisonous to sheep. Maybe they sussed it themselves if they haven't been back to it  :fc:
