Bottle jaw again
« on: April 06, 2013, 04:56:35 pm »
Hi.
We wormed and fluked our sheep on 16th March with combinex.
Some of you will know that one of my sheep sadly died.
But I had another who was looking a bit puffy round it's jaw. Apart from that, he was fine.
It's now 3 weeks since we did them, but he's still looking a bit puffy.
Is that normal? And if not, is it too soon to refluke?
Thanks

Combinex kills all stages of liver fluke, if administered in the correct quantity for the weight of the sheep.

I'm pretty certain we gave him the right amount.
I was just wondering if his puffiness should have gone now?
And I know some people are fluking every few weeks, although I'm not sure how often.

You may have a fluke with resistance to combined, try Trodax.

We have had the same problem early this year, fluke was resistant to Combinex because I used it for to long / to many times, we changed the drench and the sheep recovered.
