The girls have arrived
« on: April 05, 2013, 06:26:23 pm »
We picked up our first ever hens today from a lovely breeder in Ludlow. We chose hybrids in the end but four different ones so we'd get a mix of egg colours  :excited: . So now we have a speckledy hen, a beechwood blue, a white star & finally a Sussex ranger. I think hubby has fallen in love already  :innocent:

Now look forward to hours just watching them do their chicken thing. They are great timewasters!
Silly Spangled Appenzellers, Dutch bantams, Lavender Araucanas, a turkey called Alistair, Muscovy ducks and Jimmy the Fell pony. No pig left in the freezer, we ate him all!

Ahhh - that start of a long obsession. They are so lovely. You'll have twice that number this time next year.
