I'm back on line at last after my laptop went tits up!
Anyway,,,,,
I spent the day with Denmylne a few weeks ago in Fife and learned the extremely simple "Dark Art" of grafting.
I now have around 50 heritage pears in pots in the garden and fingers crossed, they will all take and the bunnies won't get to them.
All going well, I'll get them planted round the margins of the field next year when they're ready to plant out.
Kev, thanks a million for the excellent instruction, good company and coffees, not to mention the rootstock and scion material!
I'd recommend anyone who is thinking of learning the art of grafting and with an interest in saving heritage pear varieties, to contact Denmylne or at the very least, read through his posts.
Gordon
