Parsnip Wine

I got a gallon of this on a few weeks back. Recipe credit to Andy Hamilton in Booze for Free - very good book.
I went for a "Gervin Varietal D German White Wine Yeast" - should be interesting.
More pics and explanation on the blog but its looking good so far.

We have this . Book - not tried any of the recipes yet tho.

In fact my first ever batch of home brew is going on today, first lot of equipment arrived yesterday from my parents (moving house and need to clear out) and I'm going out this morning to buy the few bits we still need - airlock and suchlike.

Wasn't someone drinking parsnip wine on countryfile recently?
I might have a go too ;D

I made a batch from some leftover 'snips the other year. Just parsnips, sugar and yeast. It looked really pale and insipid, very uninspiring, and I almost poured it away. But I just shoved it to the back and left it to mature in the demi john. Kinda forgot about it and needed the demi john so thought I'd bottle it up. Wow, glad I did, best white country wine I've ever made.
