Boar needed in West Wales
« on: March 28, 2013, 08:20:29 pm »
after two disastrous farrowings I am looking for a GOS boar to cover a Saddleback (like the combination for meat) I live in  West Carmarthenshire, the disasters were due to the first sow escaping in with 20 week old young heading for slaughter = 3 piglets and then this morning our saddleback gave birth to just four thanks to the terrible mud and rather shorter Berkshire boar. I want to put the saddleback back to a boar near the end of May when I wean her, she had 14 last time  :(

Try the Wales & Border Counties Pig Breeders' Association. They should be able to put you in touch with members down your way.

If you go to www.oldspots.org.uk you will find a list of boars at stud including a couple in Wales.
