Brydes Fergal - 12.2hh Eriskay Pony - 8yr old gelding - Steel Grey
Fergal is an uncomplicated field ornament at present. He has a super temperament, and is a really friendly little chap. He lives out 24/7, unrugged, all year round. He has never suffered with laminitis (although being a native, I wouldn't want him to get too fat, as it is always a threat!), sweet itch, or lameness. He is easy to handle, catch and good for the farrier.
I bred him and have never had time to break him in. He has been bitted and lunged, but that was a few years ago.
He is for loan, as a companion pony, as I do not have time for two ponies any more. Ideally would like him to remain locally, if possible, because I would like to visit him occasionally, although I would be willing for him to travel to the right home.
The Eriskay Pony is a rare native breed, and is listed as Critically Endangered by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
The breed is on the HLS native breeds grazing list.
