Websites for Home Purchase
« on: March 17, 2013, 04:18:43 pm »
Can anyone recommend a good website where smallholding or houses with a bit of land are advertised, perhaps we have it covered with the ones we watch but if there are recommended that would be helpful.  Current sites checked are Rural Scene, Zoopla and Right Move.

Thanks,
Mickey

Mickey, keep an eye on local estate agents too. We found those in Wales had a good selection of smallholdings so I assume it will be the same elsewhere.

Thanks Clarebelle,
I found greenshifters at http://www.greenshifters.co.uk and adtrader at http://www.adtrader.co.uk.  I have bookmarked those for regular checking.

Thanks Bionic,
Currently live near Manchester but we can always try contacting estate agents, I imagine they have maintain a list for emailing out new property details.

Back pages of the smallholding mags always have a load.

we found ours by accident, bog-standard (and rather rubbish) estate agent selling 'house with land'.

If you are looking in Scotland, I'm not sure the websites mentioned are very good.

The rural estate agents - Savills, Galbraiths usually have some; Aberdeen and Northern Estates for the NE of Scotland, C&D Property Services for Dumfries and Galloway. We saw a few on Aberdein Considine in the NE of Scotland.

Oh, and Dragon Drving sometimes have some

Thanks everyone,
Scotland is a possibility, we are hoping to be up there next week looking around.  Will take a look at the additional sites mentioned.

I have a small plot in Aberdeenshire in a  small hamlet  for sale - outline planning, it's about a quarter acre but right next to a huge field that a new owner might be able to rent part of from the local farmer. I'll put a link in Marketplace

This is a good one to look at to get a selection of "agencies" covering all areas of Scotland.

Good luck
