what on earth ????
« on: February 24, 2013, 11:27:58 pm »
Has anyone seen this before? It looks like an egg picked from a tree! My daughter found some more "stalks" in the nesting box but all the other eggs were properly formed (if I got to see and collect them all). :chook: :&>

It looks like the shell has been overformed. One of my old Plymouth Rock type hen lays funny shaped eggs with a bit of a crown on them made with a bit extra shell. I think it's because she's getting on a bit, none of the others lay deformed eggs!
Silly Spangled Appenzellers, Dutch bantams, Lavender Araucanas, a turkey called Alistair, Muscovy ducks and Jimmy the Fell pony. No pig left in the freezer, we ate him all!
