There are lots of websites out there selling medicines that require a prescription. Does anyone on here actually get there vet to write one out and then buy through the websites? I would find it difficult to do that beleive it would alter the vet / shepherd relationship. Some items i get off the vet are cheaper some more expensive so when cost of postage is added I doubt that I myself would be financially better off anyway.

There are also plenty of unscrupulous sellers claiming to sell the labelled product but they are counterfeit so be on your guard.

No vet should spoil a relationship because you find a drug cheaper. They may, however, be able to knock their price down a bit

I have had a vet write a prescription for medication for my dog but it costs about £7 per item so there has to be a decent enough difference in price to be worth the hassle.

You Do have to check out the companies but some are legitimate.

Any company selling prescription medicines MUST have a registered SQP responsible for ensuring that the sale is legitimate.

The name and level of the SQP MUST be published on the website - Some can only do farm animals, some farm and equine and some companion animals.

My vet has written me a prescription for a box of the new combined rabbit vaccine. If I took each bun to the vet it would cost me £35 EACH

Normally they wouldn't do it but as I explained, I can only stretch funds for rescued rabbits so far, I live in the middle of myxo central so I cannot bring them in if I cannot protect them and I can't afford that much. As I explained in the long run it works out better for them as eventually every rabbit coming in will be neutered, so it is their interests to help me help as many buns as possible

That and they KNOW I am able to administer them properly

Just gotta save up enough now to buy the box of vaccines. It might be cheaper, but it ain't never going to be cheap
