Table Birds Wanted
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:12:15 pm »
Does anyone know where I could get table birds in or around central Scotland?  We are in South Lanarkshire area.
Would also consider hatching eggs.

Many Thanks

I dont know if this will help you but I have made friends with a commercial chicken farmer, he raises birds for large supermarkets, and they 'go' at 31 days, so I buy 80 or so then at approx £2 a time.
They are injected and mite free so thats all good
I keep them free range and add a bit more weight on them before we slaughter to eat.

Perhaps you could do this in Scotland to?

Im sure there are other commercial guys round here that if approached and offered slightly more than they get from the supermarkets would snap your hand off, especially if you are a regular customer.

Have a look on the 'marketplace' forum, there is someone selling Hubbards between Glasgow and Stirling.
