Willows hooves are in a bit of a mess, trimmed them today and they could do with a good file down. Any ideas?

I use a yellow surform shaver that you can get from hardware stores. 
Smallholding in Worcestershire, making goats milk soap for www.itsbaaathtime.com and mum to 4 girls,  goats, sheep, chickens, dog, cat and garden snails...
