Cheshire Smallholders and routes to market
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:45:16 pm »
Hi There,
My name is Heather and I am currently working on a project for Cheshire Wildlife Trust called 'Wild about Conservation Meat'.  Our aim is to promote and create routes to market for traditional breeds of cattle and sheep (so far).  We have over 250 English Longhorn and Dexter cattle, and the same again for Hebridean sheep, grazing wildlife sites throughout Cheshire with the aim of increasing biodiversity and improving the management of land for wildlife.

I'm writing today to widen my search for other like minded smallholders who may be interested in help with getting their animals to market and getting a premium price for their meat under the banner of conservation grazed meat.  We are in the process of becoming leaf accredited which is also something that may be a point of interest.  I will endeavor to attach links with this message.

It would be great to hear from any interested parties no matter how small!
