Yes we have a wood pellet boiler which does our hot water & heating. We've not quite had it a year, but so far we are quite pleased with it. The only problem we have had so far is a couple of ignition faults where the pellets have jammed in the feeder pipe, other than that it's been very good. We have a small hopper which holds a week's worth of pellets, which means that we refill the hopper & empty the ash pan once a week. Once a month we also dust down the baffles, which is a very quick job. Other than that is should be serviced once a year & that's about all, apart from having the flue swept. We paid extra so that we are able to burn logs, but that requires a change in the burning door & feeder etc so it's not a quick flick of a switch to change between the 2 fuel types. It would be worth it if we had a big supply of free wood, but we don't so we save it for the 2 wood burners we have in the house.

I have to say they aren't the cheapest boilers available, but we don't have gas up here & access for the oil delivery lorry is limited. We had an old coal burning stove previously, which worked well, but needed replacing & was very messy so we bit the bullet & made the change. I'm happy with the decision.
