You know - I've known that for a long time - and never quite understood it...  After all, we use hot water to defrost frozen water - only for it then to freeze up even faster again? Argh! Wish I'd paid more attention at school!

I was going to test it to see if its true but don't think I'll bother now

The outside tap here freezes up at the slightest hint of cold (I need to wrap pipes in bubblewrap or something?) anyway...as a result, I end up taking indoor water all the way up the hills to the goat paddocks. They love it warm but this explains why I end up doing it a few times a day
