Still not better
« on: January 09, 2013, 11:58:05 am »
Had this cold since New Years day, and although the sore throat and runny nose have stopped,  I still have that constant drip down the back of my throat, and clearing my throat all the time, and the bad night time cough keeping me awake.  So very tired, and just no energy.  And this morning I have been going dizzy, but think thats my sinuses causing that.
Its bad enough pushing a full wheelbarrow, but through the thick mud, and with having no energy I keep getting the wheel stuck.  Have been stopping for10 minute rests, and cups of tea, which is not getting much done in the way of work!!!
Everyone has this cold ....some worse that me.  Parked next to an elderley farmer friend in the village, and he said he, his  wife, and son had been ill all over xmas, and still were not right  His wife had been to the doctor, and he said she was seriously ill and wanted to put her in hospital,   She refused, and he put her on antibiotics and sterioids, which helped.  Anyway, she had gone in the post office, and  her husband had to park outside as he said she was still weak.  He said she had lost weight in the two weeks she had been ill.  I was so shocked when she came out of the shop ......she was a robust woman, and it was like looking at a frail old lady, who in all honesty, looked likedshe may not be here long.
I know I am tired, with all the coughing, and look really drawn and pale, but  I am thankful I do not look as ill as that poor farmers wife.  Well, I hope not!!
Hopefully will feel better tomorrow, and have a bit more life in me, and able to get more done, at a faster speed!! :D

Think everyone has had it at some time or other, poor you. The dizziness could be labyrinthitis which can be set off by a bad head cold but see how you go, colds generally make you feel foggy :tired: .
There seem to be a plethora of bugs around at the moment, wonder if its something to do with the weather being wet and mild, a prolonged cold spell required to kill some of the nasties off.
Anyway take care of you, keep warm, lots of fluids and paracetamol.

I suppose its hanging around everywhere, ready to jump on people who are down. I felt a tiny bit bad over the Christmas the first time I have had a proper cold for years, as i do not mix too much :innocent:
I keep seeing posts for Cinnamon and honey, that certainly will not do any harm, unless you have an allergy, see the Dr just to check you have no infection on your chest, and keep your chest area warm just in case, fluids and paracetamol help so does rest.
I kept seeing people with children being re infected with constant colds, then they found the culprit being the car air conditioning, the same on public transport.....horrid to feel bad, and the worse bit, its so miserable this time of year, we all need a boost...holiday in the sun on prescription!!
I am off walkies with the dogs as the sun is out and I love the cold air, keep wrapped up and topped up (not alcohol  ;) )

Roxy, is there any way you could spend a couple of days in bed, or at least confined to the house. I am sure a proper rest will do you the world of good.
We have sun  :sunshine: here too today and its certainly lifted my spirits

:sunshine: here too and it was great to go outside.  Would have loved to have taken the dogs out but we have the builders in so couldn't both leave the house and I don't like to go out alone.

Roxy, hope you feel better soon.   :bouquet:   Have you tried steam inhalations for your sinuses?
