Is corn good for sheep?
« on: January 05, 2013, 03:42:32 pm »
Hello.
Happy New Year. (I hope the Animal Police aren't reading my posts because I've just put one on the Pig Forum about feeding sheep food to my pigs.)
On another note, my sheep go mad for the mixed corn I put down for the chickens and I have been putting a bit in their food as a treat.
I thought I'd better check if this was ok?
Thank you

Ours love it.. Maize that is. I give them fresh from the fields next to us after the machines have been in and now i go through 75 kg over winter about 24 euros that i soak for 24 hrs nearly doubling in weight and more digesable for sheep...along with hay theyre more than happy. . Maize is good for all livestock our pig gets alot too but she gets spoilt i cook hers with Wheat.

Thank you. Both our sheep and our pigs go mad for our mixed corn.
Maybe I'll get just maize and try that.
Thanks again for your help
