Hi from Scotland
« on: November 17, 2012, 07:54:58 pm »

Hi,

I've just started reading the forums here and thought I'd join as there seems to be a lot of like minded people here! I keep Soay's, Jacob's and a couple of Badgerface Welsh Mountain ewes! 4 Ex battery hens and of course my faithful collie. :dog:and appaloosa mare. :horse:

I've just started my website so please take a look at www.hawthornsoaysandjacobs.co.uk to see all my pictures!

Hi Sheepcrazy   and welcome to TAS.  Just caught a look at your website, the photos are great in gallery.  We keep Soays too amongst other sheep but I have a soft spot for them, especially those Disney looks in the lambs, just perfect!  You'll be in good company here.  There was a thread on recently, someone looking for Soays to buy - you may want to search back, it was in the last month I think.  We're about 30mins south of Edinburgh by the way.

Hi, Goosepimple

The Soay's are my favorite too, especially my pet lamb/miniature person she's amazing does all the things Soay's are supposed to do like climb a dyke just to get back to me and you never leave the house door open! I'm just glad the rest of the herd are more sensible! It's nice to meet another Soay enthusiast, and relatively close! Im based in Dumfries and Galloway. Yes I caught the thread about the Soay's and am all organised to get the girls up to the Isle of Lewis! My other ewe lambs made BBC news as the first sheep to be put back onto the Isle of Rum after a 55 year absence. They are such rewarding like beasties.

Hi Bigchicken,

That's a handsome Texel do you keep many? My grandmother has a small flock as she's supposedly retired now! :)
