Pedigree hebridean ram
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:00:55 pm »
Hi everyone
We live on the Isle of Lewis in the outer Hebrides and have just got a small flock of 10 pedigree hebridean ewe lambs and are looking for a registered pedigree ram to go with them for next year.  Can anyone help us?
Thanks
Kelly

Hi Kelly    Great breed you have chosen, especially living in the Hebrides

The breed society Scottish national sale takes place in late September at Stirling Caledonian Mart.  There are always plenty of tups to choose from there.  Were you to buy a tup now he would be hanging around for a year getting frustrated, so best to leave it until next year to buy one.

There are also several breeders on Lewis and the other Outer Isles - see the Hebridean Sheep Society literature for details, or contact the secretary.

We have sold our tups for this year but,  :fc:  , we may well have some available in Aug 2013 if there's no-one closer.
