Beef now
« on: October 24, 2012, 09:22:33 pm »

The pigs are either sold or in the freezer so are the lambs so that got me thinking, I need some beef now!
As we only have 6 acres I don't think that this is enough to keep cattle too so after speaking to 3 of my pork customers I have arranged with the farm next door to buy an Aberdeen angus ready for killing, I will send it to the abattoir and have it butchered and we will have 1/4 each and if my costings are right :fc:  it will only cost £350 each. So although it won't be beef I have reared myself I know exactly where it comes from and how it was fed.
