I recently contacted the Scottish coordinator for the Brittish Horse Society to ask about working horses for a smallholding.   As a result of this enquiry the BHS are putting on an event on Saturday 17th November 201, 210am-1pm, in a stubble field on Highlandman Loan, Crieff.   the event is called An introduction to working Horses
Presenter
Mr Allan Thomson Tullochville, Aberfeldy and friends
Subjects Include:

What can working horses do?
Getting started: finding and training your horse
Equipment and help - where to find both
Care of the horse including fitness and feeding

Cost: £10; Soup and rolls will be served
If you are interested in attending then Please register an interest  to:
h.mauchlen@bhs.org.uk in case they cancel because of bad weather

I am so impressed with the BHS for getting this organised in order to support smallholders and it would be great if people could go along and support this

Just found this: How did it go?

It sounds just up my street: I'd definitely go if they put one on near here (North Yorks)
