It took a while ...
« on: October 11, 2012, 06:54:56 pm »
but I have finally finished these. I actually completed them about 4 years ago but never got round to sanding and oiling them as I don't have anywhere to do it since we moved out here. Well I finally did it and can actually start using them - though the boys are under strict instructions not to touch  ;D

Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

I can vouch for the classes - I made a stool (very basic in comparison, I only stopped as I struggled to get there and back in the winter as only had Landrover at the time). But have my stool! Very inspirational to see what everyone is making and the wood is amazing.

What types of wood did you use? I love the wee panels in the bottom bit

It's elm. I managed to get some lovely bits with lost of burr for the panels and also the tops of the cabinets. I am making a chest of drawers to match them at the moment and although the carcass is very plain elm the drawer fronts have lots of burring so hopefully it will look nice - although it's horrible to work with  ::)
