£8 each!
« on: September 22, 2012, 11:25:12 pm »
Someone told me recently, some weaners were making £8 each at the local market because of a bias against coloured pigs. With the cost of feed climbing ever skyward how long can pig farmers keep going? On the plus side, i know where to go for some cheap meat pigs  :innocent:

we see it at our local market too but rule of thumb the price usually reflects condition of these poor animals too it would take money to bring the animals around to condition before you start getting them ready for slaughter.

It's the same in Hereford market. Pig prices are low, but as always quality sells faster and for more than rubbish.

Were coming into winter again and everyone is looking to rid themselves of animals that cost the earth to feed.

Horses are still at an all time low.
