And, if these are your first, you won't sleep properly or eat properly until Monday evening ;)  Been there, done that etc. Monday, driving back home with an empty trailer you will feel awful until you know for certain that your pigs have "gone".

My sixth lot went last week and I still felt sick for about 2 days before and until I saw them hanging in the butchers and then it just seems to feel right.

You wait till you taste you're meat! We've done one lot, now on the second, we were going to have a break but, well, we couldn't wait to have more little piggies. What an exciting journey and fabulous meat!

Our first two went week before last, butchers last week and we now have a pig jigsaw in the freezer.

Abattoir was very calm and unhurried, taking them from there to the butchers was a bit more unsettling but that leg of pork on Sunday did taste incredible.  Even my wife who was most unsettled by the whole thing started smiling again.

We had our first killed a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't as bad as I expected and, as Daisy's Mum says, it seemed right once he was in the butchers. The only thing we got wrong is that we sold him so we have to wait till his brothers go to get a proper taste!
