I'm a slapper
« on: September 17, 2012, 09:52:12 am »
Ah, thought that might get your attention.....

Well to be honest its OH that is the slapper.  He did the deed this morning for the first time as our gilts are due off on Wed. For any other first timers I can tell you that it was relatively easy, doing it while the pigs ate and they hardly flinched.

Well done Sally & your OH
Don't do the "slapper" bit myself (fortunately abbattoir takes eartags), but hopefully posting your experience on here will instill confidence in those who are still to face the challenge

I find it much easier being a slapper than an ear tagger ;)

I am planning on being a slapper too as some of my pigs came back without their tags  :pig:
