Dog found
« on: September 16, 2012, 11:02:01 pm »
A friend of mine put this on Facebook - anyone in the area know someone who might have lost her. She's in safe hands for the moment, but will be rehomed soon if her owner doesn't come forward.

"Found in the woods near Ladybank,Fife a young hungarian vizsla bitch. she was found last week-end and still no one claimed her. Please friends pass this word around."

Has she been taken to a vets and checked for microchip?
I am long out of rehoming centre knowledge but it was a case of registering a found dog with the police and stray kennels, then 28 days before it could be legally rehomed unless a registered stray kennels or vets had it in their possession, in which case it could be 7 days.

You probably know this... in which case just  ::) and ignore  ;)

She may have been stolen and dumped or panicked/put up a deer and ran for miles. Put an ad. in all dog publications, they usually don't charge for found dogs. I hope she gets home safely :dog:

I'm assuming you've checked doglost for lost vizslas?  As Sylvia said, she may have been dumped.  Does she look like she is a working dog?  Might be worth putting posts on gundog boards.

Yup, done all that - he breeds Vizzies.  we wondered if it was Mia on Dogslost as she's been missing fro months and would be about the right age, but she doesn't look like she's been roaming all that time.  Maybe someone has had her and she has escaped again.
Will let you know if I hear any more..
