Well what a uninspiring subject, but it is driving me crackers.
Can anyone recommend a decent collar for an active dog, which is a bit unusual without being mega expensive.
Have tried webbing ones with plastic clips, but where they all play together dragging each other around, the clips don't last very long. So who can point me in the right direction for something that will last a bit longer than 6-12 months.

I know rogz are expensive but they seem to be pretty robust for ours. Even the little terrier's collar is doing well being pulled around by a gsd . I don't know of any that would last with regular chewing for too long tho 

Just editing after terracing the title. Sorry don't use leather. I like the nylon ones so they can be machine washed  after the dogs have been bounding through stagnant muddy puddles for weeks on end.

I have used several of these - nice and soft but long lasting.  The only reason I've had to buy replacements is a certain naughty puppy who liked to eat the other dogs collars while they were wearing them!

Sheepdog has a leather one from pets at home - £15 I think - has survived 18 months so far with the occasional slather of dubbin! Leather and buckles far sturdier than clips I think.
But she doesn't "do" mud/swimming.

I'm fed up with the quick release clips, they are TOO quick release.  Next lot will be buckles even though they take longer to get off.  Not sure I'd buy leather though, like the idea of being able to wash them.

We bought webbing ones for our dogs from Orvis. You can have the dog's name and your telephone number sown into the collar - ours kept losing the name disks rather than the collars.

They've had them for years and they wash well in the machine if they get dirty.

We use the "Wainrights" webbing collars on our setters & weimi- they're padded inside & have a good strong buckle & "D" ring.  They wash-up great too

Moz has a collar from Equus leather, handmade rolled bridle leather, cist about £30, had it 3 years, looks better than when it was new, I know it's expensive but it's one of those 'lifetime' things, can't see me ever needing a new one for him

We bought a leather collar from harbro and lasted 8 years. We treated all the dogs to webbing ones from petsathome and the stitching comes apart very quickly.

Mine all have leather collars, I think they are probably more comfy as the get nice and flexible as they age. They look nicer than webbing too, but the down side is they can get stretched over time. I often have to add more holes because the dogs pull on the leash or whatever.

If those are the ones from Pets at Home then they're extremely rugged, it's what I use. Nice and wide too which a lot of collars aren't for medium dogs. Not easy to undo after they've been on a while as they stiffen up but might try giving them a wash...

I use two split rings for their tags too otherwise they fall off in minutes

There are beautiful handmade collars for sale on Facebook but they'd be ruined with my muddy dogs.
I quite fancied the wonderwoman design for my gsd bitch tho.
