Another vet today this time for Teka to get her teeth checked. Was a bit worried that they would want to sedate her as she is 21 and of coarse not mine. Being such a good girl she put up with the whole process, not many rough edges, in fact vet thought her teeth were very good for her age. She then went on to give her an overall check and all was well. I think I worry more about her than my own just because she is not mine. She has another fun show this weekend so I gave her a bath yesterday as the rest of the week is not looking good. Anyone know how to get urine stain out of a grey tail. At the moment she has parts that look orange !!!! :relief:

I'm in the process of getting a dentist to my old girl.  My farrier friend knows someone who a lot of people recommend, who doesn't usually come to just one person but is going to come out for me.

I REALLY struggle with mucky tail, no matter how often I bath it!  Luckily, I'm not after a whiter than white one lol

My oldie has to be sedated for teeth and he has to have them done every six  months, but he is 17hh and a real monster to 'do things to' so we tend to do all the other jobs (sheath cleaning, jabs, blood test for tapeworm etc) while he is compliant!! He seems to find the whole experience much less upsetting when sedated a little, I held out against it for years but am comfortable with it now, tho I wouldnt want to have someone elses horse sedated in my care.
Havent too much idea on tails tho...:-))

Hi Sabrina
My neighbour (been keeping sheep for years) was telling me at our local show on saturday that he has something he puts on sheep for showing, goes on blue and then just gradually turns to sparkling white - removes all poo and grass stains, and yes sounds far too good to be true :o He was thinking it might be useful for my daughters wee piebald pony. Now this is where I am no help, because he couldn't remember what it was called and therefor I don't know if it would even be suitable for ponies. You could ask in the sheep section? Apart from that I have heard that the stuff you use to whiten net curtains can help, but again you could not be sure if they would have a reaction, but may be ok for the ends of the hair that did not touch skin!
.....and if YOU find the miracle cure for yellow tails please let me know ;D
