as subject says. I am thinking of selling my adorable nanny and her 18month old kid. Nanny is q*7 brCh. I have tried dying her up but to no avail. She milks 8 pints a day and that is just too much for me to handle with full time work, horses, husband etc. Anyone able to advise on price? where to advertise?

What is your Health Status....i.e CAE/Scrapie monitored etc. If you on the Scrapie scheme I could be interested.
What is her name & number please ?

she came cae tested, not scrapie tested etc though. She is oakvale acorn and oakvale snowdrop (snow drop unshown)

They are really well bred. In all honesty- I would go back to the person you got them from. If that is the original breeder, then they may well have had enquiries from people looking for their stock when they haven't any more to spare. From a breeders point of view, there is nothing more heartbreaking than selling a really good animal, to someone who later decides they can't manage, and then advertises the goats anywhere. Had it happen to a friend, who let some nice goats go, and a fortnight later they were advertised on the notice board in the local tesco.

Even if the breeder can't take them back, they will more likely know of someone looking for that quality of animal.

I do agree with Beth. Most responsible goat breeders would prefer to know where their goats are going, even if it means trying to help sell them if they cannot have them back. I always try and keep in touch with new owners of my goats, so that if they wish to sell at some point, they can hopefully tell me.

I totally agree with you. I would hate to see them on a notice board, or free ads sure. It is heart breaking to think about parting with them. If only I could dry her up, I would keep them. Nothing is working though
