Report from Saturday 28th JulyHexham & Northern Marts held their Summer Fur & Feather Sale on Saturday 28th july  A great catalogue of over 700 cages of birds were offered along with associated equipment and hatching eggs. A steady trade was maintained throughout although without the fire seen at the Spring sale. Buyers were definitely more cautious at ringside, perhaps evidence of the economic climate. Despite this good birds still sold well and many of the better lots exceeded £50, leading price of the day being £105 paid for a smart trio of Sussex Bantams.
