Shipping Container.
« on: July 08, 2012, 11:09:25 pm »
I keep my MF35 and my lawn mover in a shipping container that we used when we renovated our house. In the summer it gets very hot inside and when you open it the smell of petrol and or diesel is overwelming. Still i persist with it as its the only sure way of maintaining a bit of security for my tractor- no windows to nosey through.

Question is-- how can i add ventilation to it so that the fumes dont build up in the heat? Im thinking louvred vents or those metal spinning cowls that you see.

Any ideas?

if it is an ISO container in each top corner there is a vent to all gas's out during sea passage - you could get the van cowls and fit over the vents (save cutting chunks out of the box)
when the revolution comes it will be a co-op

I mourn the passing of wooden shipping containers. They made the best field shelters :(   Metal ones certainly need top ventilation of some sort.

A cheaper option would be to drill some holes in the side near to the top above head height.

Just a thought??

at my work we fit industrial steam boilers into 20 foot containers, we normally fit 3 louvres into them, welded in for security and quite hard to see through. might be able to get some pics tomorrow if you want
