Poorly piglet

One of my gos x pietrain x welsh 8 week old piglets Is Ill.
wobbly on legs and won't stand. Very weak. If I support it back left leg she seems to be able to stand. However can't feel any breaks etc and doesn't squeal like she's in pain. She lives out and is fed pig corn. Phoned the vet and they said nothing can do and she's possibly just over ate??
Any ideas as what could be wrong? Still drinking and eating in small amounts at a time ( don't won't to give to much at once incase stomach is the problem )

Hi Amy
As non-one had responded here goes its possible she has just eaten too much she may have also knocked herself whilst racing round with her siblings.
so long as she is drinking and getting up to go out for a pee & poo you'll probably find she will be back to her normal self in a day or so.
Check she's not dehydrated the weather has been hot and this would make her wobbly too. Electrolytes are good if you have any (ag stores & vets have them) as she's so young you may have to syringe them into her mouth.
HTh and she's better soon.

Have you managed to check she hasn't got a problem in her mouth?  Could she have cut her mouth or have ulcers?

Yes, I do know what it means to have a look - I had to do the same!  Get a banana (peeled) and hold it above the piggy's nose, raising it each time they look upwards!  This works for a quick peek. Mind you, they have to be interested in the banana...

Could be possible Menigitis for which a course of antibiotics is needed ie Penicillin??
If no improvement has been made then I would try this.
Duphamox is a good drug for this condition.
Hope it improves.
