Being attacked from all angles
« on: July 03, 2012, 07:06:56 pm »
Early this morning a fox took one of my muscovy girls and has now left her 9 babies orphaned. Later on in the day a buzzard made off with a muscovy duckling from another brood. Grrrrrrr. Somestimes wildlife is a pain in the arse.
Silly Spangled Appenzellers, Dutch bantams, Lavender Araucanas, a turkey called Alistair, Muscovy ducks and Jimmy the Fell pony. No pig left in the freezer, we ate him all!

Once upon a time it was wolves Brijjy, until we wiped them out. Nearly got rid of all the buzzards, magpies and the foxes as well. They were at least well under control. But as the townies now dictate what happens in the Countryside and won't let the countryside into the towns -like livestock in your garden. Really the whole thing is on its head.

Sorry for your loss. We had a fox strike last week and lost a much loved hen -came in through the townies gardens, not from the field on the other two sides (and 4th side is canal).
