Surrogate ewe!
« on: June 23, 2012, 04:25:13 pm »

I think I've mentioned Tallulah on here before, she's a WiltshireXtexel and came from a fellow TAS member as a bottle lamb after her own mum tried to kill her (!)

She's a year old now and we introduced some Suffolk/texel cross ram lambs (also cades) into the field after weaning. Tallulah has been amazing with them. If they go out of her sight for too long she bleats until they run back to her, she stamps her foot if they don't listen and she's never too far from them.
I know its unusual for a mismothered ewe to take on traits like this, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to breed from her but ...sweet isn't it?
