I'm not sure I mind them snooping.  Perhaps comes of living too near terror central (Luton).  Might make politicians and journalists more honest (fat chance)

I'm not sure I agree with that. I don't know that I have anything to hide in that sense, but I still don't want someone I don't know to be able to read any email or text I send, check what internet sites I visit (dodgy forums  ), listen to my phone calls etc. Now you might say  they wouldn't bother with me - i'm sure that's probably true, but to feel safe I need to know that they actually can't, unless they can persuade a Judge that there is good reason why they should.

Having experienced kiddy fiddling when I was 14 and seen the aftermath of an IRA bombing I want such people watched, trapped and nailed.  Conversely why anybody has any interest in most of the so-called celebrities beats me.  I mean Hugh Grant is neither interesting not anyone's ideal role model is he?
